La sua natura è doppia; Federico Mariani ha voluto unire una parte seriosa, precisa e pura con un altra fantasiosa, naif e spontanea. Inoltre voleva mettere insieme due paesi particolarmente cari, che guarda caso, rispecchiano proprio queste caratteristiche: il Giappone e la Francia. "Il primo" per la cultura antica, i samurai, l’iconografia e la precisione grafica, la spiritualità e la purezza, i cartoni animati dei grandi robot e i manga. "Il secondo" per la fantasia e le frivolezze, i disegni e la pittura, i libri de jeunesse e le bande dessinee, la grafica retrò e quel ché di naif.

KOKORO (kòkoro) è una parola giapponese.
Racchiude cinque significati: cuore, mente, spirito, anima e mentalità. Kokoro è qualcosa di sacro, come la passione per i templi shintoisti e il giappone antico dei samurai. La devozione dei giapponesi è unica e anche la grafica e l’immagine ha un chè di sacralità. Volevo che l’arte della grafica fosse come l’arte della spada: una cosa sacra che si fa col cuore e con l’anima.
Il colore ROSSO Imperiale, è il colore di Marte, del sangue e della guerra, ma anche il colore del cuore, della passione,della collera, della vitalità.

JOUJOU () è una parola francese.
Significa giocattolo, giochino. È infantile e fantasiosa, come deve essere, irriverente, spontanea e colorata come il mondo dei bambini. In questa parola c’è il desiderio di giocare, di essere liberi, di dire quello che si pensa, di morsicare, di tirare i calci, di ridere, di piangere, di fare la pipì nel prato, di disegnare e colorare. Di essere insomma bambini per sempre!
Il colore PORPORA, è un colore molto simile a rosa così femminile, ma nonostante ciò mantiene la sua vivacità o meglio la sua "frivolezza".
La Francia è piena di questo colore, così vicino alle sue lavande e così ricorrente negli spettacolini del Moulin Rouge. Per la scienza psicologica moderna, il colore porpora rappresenta l'urgenza di esprimersi.

Its nature is double; Federico Mariani has aimed at uniting a  serious, precise e pure nature with another that is imaginative,  naif and  spontaneous. He also wanted to combine together two countries that are particularly important to him,  and that  moreover  mirror these same  characteristics:  Japan and  France.  The first one for its  ancient culture ,  the  samurai, the iconografy  and the grafic precision, the  spirituality and  purity,  the big robot cartoons and manga . The  second one  for the imagination and the frivolous nature,  the drawings and paintings, children’s literature and  bande dessinee, the  retrò graphics and that naif “something” that is all the rage in French streets.

KOKORO (kòkoro) is a Japanese word .
It entails five meanings : heart, mind, spirit , soul and mentality.  Kokoro is something  sacred,  like the  passion for  shintoist temples and the  ancient Japan of samurai. Japanese people’s devotion is unique, and also the graphics and the image have something sacred about them  I wanted the graphic art to be like the sword art: a sacred thing one makes with heart and soul.
The RED  Imperial colour is Mars’ colour, the colour of blood and war, but also of the heart , of  passion, rage and  vitality. Red is also the sun of the Japanese flag.

JOUJOU () is a French word.
It means toy, little gadget. She is childish and imaginative , as she has to be, unrespectful , spontaneous and a colourful like children’s world.  In this word there is the desire to play , to be free, to say what one thinks , to bite, to kick , to laugh, to cry, to pee in the meadow, to draw and to paint . In a word: to be a child forever!
The  PURPLE colour is very similar to pink, so feminine, but in spite of this it keeps its vivacious or rather its "frivolous" nature.
France is full of  this  colour, so close to its ivy and so recurring in the  Moulin Rouge shows. For the modern psychological science,  the colour purple represents the urge to express oneself.
